Secure software development in a microservices world

Seminário da Pós-Graduação em Cibersegurança e Informática Forense - 21 de junho| 19h00

Software security is and will be – for years to come – one of the most important aspects to consider during software development. Whether it is for the logic itself, the infrastructure or even the composition of software, one needs to be aware of the infinite ways with which it may become vulnerable to malicious users.

It’s overwhelming! But with the proper knowledge, tools and techniques, it becomes a bearable task.

In this workshop we will visit the panorama of secure software development in a microservices world. Also, powered by CxSAST (by Checkmarx) we will shine a light on the power of static code analysis against detecting software vulnerabilities as early as one writes a line of code.

Nuno Oliveira is a software development group leader at Checkmarx where he manages and contributes to technical teams in the CxSAST and KICS solutions, under the SAST product unit. His expertise in compiler theory and technology helped improve Checkmarx’ static analysis in the past few years.

Nuno has a PhD in Computer Science and is a regular invited lecturer at IPCA and Universidade do Minho with teaching and supervision duties.
