Applications for the IPCA/Santander Universities Value Award

Applications are open until November 27 for the IPCA/Santander Universities Valor Prize, which awards a cash prize of €1,700.00.

The IPCA/Santander Universities Value Award aims to distinguish, each academic year, students who positively differentiate themselves in the human or solidarity aspect, rewarding participation in activities of active citizenship practices and volunteering developed internally at IPCA or in the outside community.

The criteria for the IPCA/Santander Universities Valor Award are defined in the REGULATIONS.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

  1. APPLICATIONS

Applications must be formalized on a specific form and sent to premiovalor@ipca.pt. They can be submitted by the applicant themselves or by another member or group of the academic community, which proposes that the prize be awarded to a student it deems worthy.

 

2. The Valor Prize consists of the following components:

– Individual diploma confirming the award;

– Mention in the diploma supplement;

– A monetary component of €1,700.00*.

* If more than one student is awarded the Valor Prize, the amount will be divided by the number of winners.

 

3. CALENDARIZATION

The timetable for the Valor Prize is as follows:

Announcement of the list of candidates accepted for the Valor Prize and sending of calls for auditions Until November 30th
Value Award candidates audition From December 5th to 7th
Decision and announcement of the winner of the Valor Prize Until December 15th
Value Award December 19th

 

4. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

4.1 Compliance with article 6.1 of the IPCA/Santander Universities Value Award Regulations, by submitting the following documents:

  1. Completed application form,
  2. Annex to the application form, detailed and reasoned justification of the proposal, with information on the following elements:

 

  1. Description of the projects/actions (objectives, target audience, duration, etc);
  2. Entities involved;
  3. Results achieved;
  4. Evidence attesting to the completion of the project/action (videos, photographs, letters of recommendation, certificates, etc).
  • Compliance with the timeframe set out in Article 4(2) of the IPCA/Santander Universities Value Award Regulation: the projects/actions must have taken place during the 2022/2023 academic year, with results known during that period.
  • The projects/actions must have a human or solidarity nature, developed within the IPCA or in the outside community, in particular with which the institution has been associated.

5. ANALYSIS OF APPLICATIONS

The analysis of applications will be based on the documents submitted and the hearing that the jury gives to each candidate.

At the hearings, the candidates must give a brief presentation of the project(s) or action(s) in which they were involved, and there will also be time to answer questions and doubts raised by the jury.

6. CRITERIA FOR RANKING APPLICATIONS

The applications accepted will be ranked according to the following criteria:

– The impact, originality and innovative nature of the projects/actions in which the student was involved;

– Relevance and contribution of the student to the project/action.

7. AWARD OF THE VALOR PRIZE

The prize will be awarded to the winning candidate(s) at the IPCA Day commemoration ceremony on December 19th.
