Maria Manuela Cruz-Cunha is a Full Professor of Information Systems and Project Management in the School of Technology at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), Portugal. She holds a Dipl. Eng. (5 years) in Systems and Informatics Engineering, an M.Sci. in the field of Computer Integrated Manufacturing, a Dr.Sci in Production Systems Engineering and habilitation in Informatics. She teaches subjects related with Information Systems, Information Technologies and Organizational Models to undergraduate and post-graduate studies. She is co-author of three books of international scope and scientific editor of 25 books published by international academic publishers, guest editor of several issues of international journals and co-editor of near 20 sets of conference proceedings. She has authored/co-authored 50 papers in journals, 50 book chapters in scientific books of international scope, 80 papers in international conferences and 10 in national conferences, and 10 studies/ reports/ technical publications. She is the editor in-chief of the "International Journal of Web Portals" (IJWP), associate editor and member of the editorial board of tens of journals and conferences, and founder and/or conference chair of several international conferences. She was president of the Technical and Scientific Council of the School of Technology for the period 2004-2011, vice-president of IPCA between 2011 and 2013 and member of the General Council for the period 2010-2014. Her main scientific interests are electronic business, virtual organizations and IST for health and social care.
